I participated in the Kode with Klossy London cohort in a WeWork in Bank. It was the most brilliant, intellectually stimulating summer I’ve ever had. I had done GCSE level computer science but it really hadn’t taken me to the same sort of depth as the master classes here and it was such a friendly and welcoming environment to learning and we had the sort of sense of camaraderie where we were all learning something completely brand-new for the first time.

I remember us going on our like tea breaks together and people from all around the world had come to this program and just like interacting with them and hearing their story was just beautiful. Lots of us still keeping contact. I’d run into Mina the other day at a networking event; she was my KWKBestie. Every time my code would start acting up. I’d run over to her and when hers would start acting up, she’d run over to me and we’d help each other problem solve.

I remember we would go out sometimes after the day had ended and I’d show them around popular like touristy haunts as well as like places closer to home it was a lot of fun.

Right now I’m doing my A-levels for biology chemistry and psychology. Still very heavily STEM based and my future career is still sort of undecided, but I’m leaning towards healthcare or maybe even coding because I still code a lot as like a side passion. I encourage lots of girls to get into it more because it kind of gave me perspective shift like you know we can do it too, just because it’s male dominated doesn’t mean I can’t do it. I guess I was a bit apprehensive at first this whole idea of a career and STEM because my head was kind of clouded with it’ll be awkward like there’s no one to relate to I don’t see any women in those sorts of roles, but but now much more open to it .
